TCM Element Alignment
- Fire Element — Cinnamon (Rou Gui), Orange Peel (Chen Pi): In traditional Chinese medicine, the Fire element governs the Heart system and the body’s warmth and Yang energy. Cinnamon (Rou Gui) is a classic warming herb in the TCM materia medica, associated with the Kidney, Spleen, and Heart systems. Orange Peel (Chen Pi) carries a warm, uplifting aromatic character associated with the Heart and Liver systems.
- Wood Element — Lemon Verbena, Rosemary (Mi Die Xiang), Cedar Tips: The Wood element governs the Liver system and the smooth upward flow of Qi. Crisp, bright, upward-moving aromatic botanicals with a forest and citrus character align with Wood’s association with Qi movement and the Liver system.
- Earth Element — Chamomile: The Earth element governs the Spleen-Stomach system. Chamomile’s gentle, grounding aromatic character aligns with Earth’s centering, sustaining quality.
